Lake Kande is a transient lake near Mongu.

Sefula was a very old Mission Station of the Paris Missionary Society midway between Namushakende and Mongu. Frances Coillard was involved with the mission early in the century. The mission became the Church of Barotseland and later merged with the Methodist Church. Further mergers have taken place since. One had to be careful about swimming in many areas of the country because bilharzia but this area was safe.
