United Society for Christian Literature

Extracts from the Autumn 1962 United Society for Christian Literature News Briefs, issued in London, showing the report on Lusaka and Kitwe Bookshops and the foreboding that the Educational side of the business was getting too large. It was indeed - we were very successful, with the profit helping to subsidise the mobile and regional shops mentioned elsewhere in this memorabilia. It was soon after this that E.J.Arnold of Leeds took over the Educational part of the operation and I became Copperbelt Manager for Arnold. Don Clarke was General Manager in Lusaka. USCL continued to run its general and religious bookshops and the mobile and regional outlets.
